Now I’ve never been a big fan of Brussel sprouts I have always believed they were boiled bits of green slop. If you believe this or are just not keen on Brussels then try popping them in the oven it is a game-changer. This Keto Halloumi Brussels Sprouts With Mustard Cream Sauce was a delight and I’m now a fan of the humble Brussel sprout.

This can be a dish served alone as a keto main meal or as a side dish but these are really worth a try. The salty halloumi brings out the extra taste giving them an edge of sweetness. Some like their Brussel sprouts more caramelized but the time was just right for me but any that did catch the heat a little more was a delight to be fair.

Keto Halloumi Brussels Sprouts Ingredients

  • 200g (7 oz) cups Brussels sprouts
  • 220g (8 oz) halloumi cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Mustard Cream Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 55g (2 oz) creme fraiche
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to Make Keto Halloumi Brussels Sprouts With Mustard Cream Sauce

  1. Add Brussels sprouts to a bowl pour over olive oil and mix
  2. Season with salt and pepper and mix to coat Brussel sprouts
  3. Add halloumi cheese and mix
  4. Add everything to a baking sheet
  5. Bake for 25 minutes at 200°c turning everything after 15 minutes

How to Make Keto Mustard Cream Sauce

  1. In a mini blender add creme fraiche, apple cider vinegar, whole grain mustard, and salt, and pepper
  2. Blend till well combined

Brussels sprouts have a love hate relasaonship with a lot of people and I'm going have to say I was in the latter camp until I tried this recipe. Baking Brussel sprouts was a complete game changer. Mixed with the salty halloumi topped with this tangy Mustard Cream Sauce these are now a real treat.
